About Regent Arabians
The Beginnings of a Realized Dream
The Arabian horse attracted me to it through the family oriented, athletic horses of the 1970’s when the Minnesota Arabian Horse Show had over 1,000 horses entered.
The Azraff, Ferzon, and Bask* bloodlines dominated the halter and performance classes. We began with a *Raffles bred mare which was bred to an Azraff, Sirecho cross stallion. The resulting foal, Regent Indira, and her sister Regent Nikole, produced terrific foals and showed well in competition for us.
Our Success
Our show highlights include the acclaimed honor of Supreme Legion of Honor, Supreme Legion of Merit, Canadian Reserve National Championship, Region 6 & 10 Champions and Reserve Champions in Dressage. Our youth riders have achieved their Saddle Seat & Hunt Seat Medals, Showmanship Halter wins and Western Horsemanship Champ Show ribbons. Our focus in Dressage has distinguished Regent Arabians as a forerunner in attaining wins through Level 4 Test 1. We also have endurance trail riders and show at Western Saddle Club Association (W.S.C.A.) open breed shows in Hunt and Western Pleasure.
Our Horse Care Philosophy
Our horses are handled daily and are outside being horses as much as possible. They are handled often as sucklings and weanlings, then turned out to be horses until we start them at nearly three (3) years old. However, we do free lunge, cross tie, groom, clip, trim and train them to trailer load as they grow.
We train them with ground work including ground driving before we ride them. All mares are trained and either shown or used as school horses for lessons. We know that they have good minds and are sound and athletic.
Our Goals & Values
Our breeding and performance goals all lead to willing, sound, beautiful Arabian horse athletes with type and motion. Our watchwords are integrity and quality.
